If you, like me, are addicted to reading blogs and you, like me, have a limited amount of clicking time and you, like me, are always looking for new ways to enhance the rush you get from blog reading, you should consider, if you haven't already done so, filtering your blogs through an aggregator.
Two free web-based aggregators -- Bloglines and Kinja -- have greatly enhanced my blog reading experience, permitting me to sample more sites while spending less time plugging in.
Bloglines lists all your blogs in a column, noting after each how many unread posts await you. When you want to catch up with a particular blog, you just click on its name and take in its posts. This makes it easy to consume a bunch of blogs after you're been away for a while.
Kinja takes a different approach, turning all your blogs into one long blog-of-blogs, snippets from each post listed in reverse chronological order with a link to the full post. Kinja's approach is better if you're constantly plugged in and craving the latest posts. If you subscribe to a constantly-updated blog like Instapundit, though, you'll find your Kinja screen filled with Instapundit posts, drowning out less frequently updated blogs such as, well, Outer Life.
I can't get enough so I use both aggregators -- Kinja helps me keep current, Bloglines ensures that I don't miss anything. I expect, as my addiction progresses, I'll soon need three aggregators to maintain what I now get with two, so if you can recommend another free web-based aggregator please let me know.
